DVS enforcement delayed until 2021

Apr 2, 2020

Transport for London (TFL) have announced that the enforcement of the new Direct Vision Standard (DVS) will now be delayed until March 2021.

The announcement follows calls from industry bodies to give fleets a much needed extension due to the Covid-19 crisis and the Mayor of London’s request of a delay for at least four months.

Meeting the deadline was already a challenge for logistics fleets with some unaware of their obligations under the scheme. Covid-19 has meant that some fleets are unable to operate whilst others are working flat out to keep the nation supplied.

Whilst March 2021 has been set as the new enforcement date this could be extended further with TFL stating that the new date will be kept under review.
